Radio Ghost Mystery at Former RAF Station

by admin on Jun.14, 2010, under Uncategorized

A 70-year-ancient radio at a Scottish heritage centre has been picking up vintage broadcasts featuring Winston Churchill and the music of Glen Miller. The Pye valve wireless at Montrose Air Station, a heritage centre that tells the tale of the men and women who served there, has no power and is not connected to any source of electricity.

The aerodrome has been a source of paranormal sightings and sounds for nearly a century, with reports of ghostly figures, eerie footsteps and door handles turning, but the mysterious wireless broadcasts have had even the most sceptical staff at the station searching for a rational explanation.’

Humanoid / Cryptid Encounter Reports 14

by admin on Apr.03, 2010, under Uncategorized

The following are previous humanoid / cryptid encounter reports received by various agencies worldwide:

THE NJUZU

Location/Date: Charmwood, Zimbabwe – January 2000 – late evening

Marko Batau was walking from Chawarura Shopping Center and as he approached the Hunyani River, he saw what appeared to be a white woman basking in the sun and sitting on a rock, half immersed in a pool of water. The woman was naked and Marko was surprised at this. Then he noticed that what he initially thought to be her leg, drawn up on the rock, was really a scaled fish tail. The woman did not notice him at first, until he deliberately made a noise while walking on the gravel to get closer, and in an instant she disappeared into the water.

A few days later, his curiosity aroused, Marko took the same route home. To his amazement, the woman was there, basking on the rock again. But not only that, this time there was laundry laid out on some stones to dry, with some draped over the bushes nearby. Unfortunately, in his astonishment and perhaps some dread, he did not see what type of washing it was, whether clothing or merely pieces of cloth. Again Marko drew nearer to get a closer view. Suddenly, the woman became aware of him and looked at him as though admonishing him. The next thing, she had disappeared in the water.

The following week, Marko deliberately took this rather isolated shortcut home. Immediately when he reached the pool on the river, he saw the same creature there. Only this time, she was holding a baby in her arms and giving it a bath. Still puzzled by what he was seeing, Marko tried to draw closer to verify what he was seeing, but the moment the woman heard his footsteps on the gravel, she and the baby disappeared into the water together.

NOTE: this is not the only reported ‘Njuzu’ or ‘water spirit’ sighting on the Hunyani River. A young boy, from a Zimbabwe settler family, had a similar experience in the early 1900’s. Johane Masowe, founder of the Gospel of God Church in Zimbabwe, maintained he had encountered one of the creatures as well. Njuzu are considered in native folklore to be brilliant healers…Lon

THE KANGAROO-LIKE ‘THING’

Location/Date: Baquedano, Chile – June 2000 – late night

Upon hearing the frenetic barking of his dogs, security guard Luis Alberto Calivar armed himself with a flashlight and a knife and went outside to investigate. Soon his lights illuminated a dark greenish form that ran very quickly, climbing up a Wasintonia palm. As he shone the flashlight at the figure he felt his arm become “cold” and the knife and watch dropped out of his hand. At the same time, the dogs stood very silent and still. A feeling of numbness overcame his body and he ran back inside his security shack. He was followed by the dogs that hid under the room and started to shake in dread.

He could only describe the creature as having large flopping ears, fluid-like in nature, as if it was without a solid bone structure. It gave the appearance of being a flexible mass that went around ‘like a kangaroo’ (?). It went silently and was about 1.30m in height. When he first spotted the creature it seemed to have been crouching down, behind a bush. It seemed to twist its body around and never looked straight at the witness. Incredibly, despite the reactions, the witness felt no dread and did not notice any odors coming from the creature.

The encounter lasted about 5 minutes and the creature was about 9 meters away from the witness. He further described the creature as having greenish hairs about 5 to 6cm in length. Soon after the encounter, Calivar had too see a doctor and lost about 20 pounds of body weight.

ANOTHER KANGAROO-LIKE CREATURE

Location/Date: Evington, Virginia – 1997 – night

On a dark moonless night, Kyle Keatts was wandering about in the woods near his home when something caught his eye near the chicken coop, which was near a barbed wired fence. Beyond that, for several miles, were some cows and other farm animals. He remembered seeing two red eyes that stuck out from out of the darkness near the ground. He approached it in order to obtain a better look.

He remembered looking at the protruding, oval-shaped eyes, which appeared to have a black slit through them, like a cat’s eyes. It looked back at Keatts and he perceived a sense of danger. He became frightened and ran towards his house yelling for his father to come out. His father ran out and saw what appeared to be a 3-4 foot tall animal running upright on its legs. The legs looked like that of a kangaroo, but it did not hop…it just ran very quick. In the light of the light pole they saw that the creature was black with scaly-looking skin with what looked like spikes running down its back. A neighbor had reported that an unknown predator had slaughtered 10-15 of her chickens.

NOTE: I’ve posted at least one similar sighting in this part of Virginia previously. The area sits just east of the Blue Ridge Mountains…Lon

THE SECOND VISIT

Location/Date: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada – January 2001 – daytime

Two peculiar strangers visited the witness, who had a previous visit after a UFO encounter. These two visitors were different from the others. They were at least six-feet tall, very bony, with head, hands and feet out of proportion to the rest of the body. They wore gray suits that seemed to be “oily”, had black ties and hats plus wrap around sunglasses that they never took off. When questioned about the glasses they remarked that they could see perfectly well. Their ears stood out from their heads and their skin was pale white, whereas their fingernails were gray in color. They never removed the hats during their visit. Throughout the visit only one of them spoke. When questioned for ID’s they showed “silver” cases that contained a photo, an unusual symbol, plus their names in small print.

Upon entering the kitchen they questioned the witness to please unplug the microwave, they also told him to turn the computer off. The two Persian cats were going crazy dashing around the room and trying to get out of the window, which was closed. Each man carried a briefcase with an inverted L shaped handle. The man that did all the talking questioned to see the witness’ unusual watch. He then removed from his briefcase four small containers, each had a different colored top. Opening two, he proceeded to pour the contents over the watch. He told the concerned witness that no harm would come to the watch. He was given $250 for the watch and told that they would give him the rest later. He told them that he was moving soon, to this they answered “We know…don’t worry, we can find you if we want to.”

They soon departed without the common courtesies, staring blankly at the witness as he extended his hand. Once again the witness rushed to the bedroom window only to find, as before, no sign of either man departing, nor could any vehicle be heard leaving. After the visit the witness felt drained, had a severe headache that lasted for two days and a rash on his arms, face and chest.

Night visitor

by admin on Mar.09, 2010, under Latest News

In the small village of Kilmaurs on the outskirts of Kilmarnock, Scotland, a middleaged couple are experiencing odd sensations that are seemingly on the increase. At first they place it down to imagination, but now they are not so sure. In addition to doors opening and shutting by themselves and unexplained bangs in the night, phenomena include objects being went from room to room, the strong smell of cigarette smoke and gusts of wind passing by them while they’re sitting in the lounge. The most disturbing is hearing the crunch, crunch on the gravel as though someone is walking by the side of the house, hearing the back door open and close and footsteps on the stairs; no one is ever found and all doors are securely locked. Marketing Bulgaria’s Rabisha Lake Monster

by admin on Mar.09, 2010, under Uncategorized

novinite – The world well-known monster Nessie from the Loch Ness in Scotland is about to get a rather tough competitor – the Water Bull from the Rabisha Lake in Northwestern Bulgaria.

Even though the Water Bull and Nessie seem to be of very different species, the Water Bull of the Rabisha Lake is set to conquer the world going in the footsteps of the Loch Ness Monster, Emil Tsankov, Mayor of the town of Belogradchik has told Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency).

Belogradchik is a small, though, rather well-known and picturesque town in the Bulgarian Northwest. First and foremost, it is known for the Belogradchik Rocks – absolutely miraculous rock formations stretching for some 30 km in the western part of the Balkan Moutain (Stara Planina).

Over the past year, the Belogradchik Rocks did pretty well in the competition for the New Seven Wonders of the World, and even though they failed to make it to the finalists, they have found a spot on the prestigious reserve list. The other incredible thing near Belogradchik is the Magurata Cave with its enchanting paintings by prehistoric people.

And the third world-class tourist attraction the Belogradchik Municipality wants to add to its portfolio has to do with the Monster of the Rabisha Lake.

Mayor Emil Tsankov has submitted an application to the EDEN (European Destinations of Excellence) contest, a EU-wide project focusing on sustainable development. The topic of the 2010 edition of the contest is “Water as a Force of Life and Prosperity” which made the Rabisha Water Bull a rather logical participant.

With the funding that the Belogradchik Municipality hopes to get, it plans to promote the legend about the Rabisha Lake Monster and to resurrect the local traditions related to the mysterious creature.

The Rabisha Lake – Bulgaria’s Loch Ness

The Rabisha Lake (“Rabishkoto Ezero” in Bulgarian) is located between the villages of Tolovitsa and Rabisha, in the Belogradchik Municipality, to the northwest of Sofia.

It is the largest lake in Bulgaria’s interior even though with its area of about 1 square km it is much more modest in size than the Loch Ness.

The Rabisha Lake has a tectonic origin. It was formed in the Quaternary Period, some 2,5-3 million years ago, and its depth reaches 30-40 meters.

“The lake has never been explored in detail so it is not unknown exactly what sorts of species from previous periods it is the home of,” Mayor Tsankov told Novinite.com.

One thing that stands out about the Rabisha Lake is the fact that it is an endorheic lake – no rivers flow out of it. This has turned it into the object of many folk tales and legends of medieval Bulgarians who believed that water had to be in circulation all the time.

Thus, the people in the region thought the lake was bottomless, and was therefore the home of many scary creatures common to the Slavic mythology.

The Legend about the Water Bull, the Rabisha Lake Monster

There are various legends about the Rabiska Lake Monster but Mayor Tsankov has picked the most “credible” one – which dates back to the 18th century – in order to focus their project on it.

The legend has it that a fearful monster inhabits the lake. Unlike Nessie and many other lake monsters, but, this one is no dinosaur; it is a lot more human-like, and is really more like a minotaur.

The Rabisha Lake Monster, the so called Water Bull, has the head of a bull, the body of giant, strong man, and the tale of fish.

In order to keep this terrifying beast at ease, the local people would offer as a sacrifice to it the most gorgeous young girl in the entire region in order to buy their safety. They would hold a procession taking the girl to the Rabisha Lake where it would get on a boat together with many wonderful gifts, and would fall pray to the monster.

It is exactly this procession with a gorgeous young girl, lavish gifts, and songs and dances that a major focus of the project to revive the Rabisha Lake legend, together with some other traditional folklore customs of the region. These customs and ceremonies will be shown to tourists and guests, and they will really be invited to participate in them.

“The terrible tale of the annual sacrifices to the Water Bull really has a pleased ending,” Tsankov clarifies with a smile. “The most gorgeous girl in the world was born one day in the village of Rabisha. When she grew up and the time came to offer her as sacrifice, she was placed in a boat and taken to the middle of the lake.

“But, when the Water Bull saw her, he was so enchanted by her that instead of killing her, he fell in like. He questioned his sister, who was a sorceress, for help, and with her powers she made the gorgeous girl immortal. The Water Bull took his young wife to the bottom of the Lake, and never came back for more prey. The two of them are still believed to live happily down there.”

Water Bull or Wels Catfish?

Huge Catch!

Click for video

What might have given rise to such a legend (there are really a number of local legends about the Water Bull Monster in the Rabisha Lake which have slight variations)? Assuming of course the actual Bull doesn’t hang around down there.

The Rabisha Lake is really proven to be the home of real water monsters – gigantic wels catfish have been caught there. The largest ones reach 5 meters in length, and a weight of 350 kg!

The Belogradchik Mayor says there are also various reports of spotting these fish monsters near the surface of the Rabisha Lake – mostly in the months of April and May – even though the wels catfish usually spend most of their time on the bottom of the lake.

“This huge fish – a real monster – might have been cause of Water Bull legend in the first place,” Tsankov thinks.

A giant Wels Catfish caught in Rabisha Lake

Legend or no legend, the development of a groundbreaking new tourist product has been initiated, and the 24 Chasa Daily and the Belogradchik Municipality have already announced a competition for taking a photo of the Rabisha Lake Monster, and everyone is welcome to participate.

Hopefully, the photos of the enthusiasts rushing there will not capture any dinosaur, Nessie-like monster in the lake as this is going to throw into disarray the tidy plans of the municipality about its Water Bull.

Of course, Mayor Tsankov really is much in favor of advertising the Water Bull as “the Bulgarian Nessie” in order to benefit from the world renown of the Loch Ness Monster.
